However, most customers contact us when a weed issue has already gotten out of hand. Our post-emergent weed control treatment program is designed for yards where weeds are already up and growing. Our lawn care specialists are experts in identifying the issue, applying the proper tools, techniques and amount of product and recommending a schedule for follow-up treatments if necessary.
Our comprehensive approach to lawn care
At Yard Smart, we don’t just show up, yank your weeds and leave (although we wish it were that simple!). Weed control is an ongoing process that demands a variety of different tools, tactics and techniques. No single method will work for all weeds. Typically we will recommend around 4-6 visits to properly address the issue. In addition, in between visits we will offer our best advice to optimize your lawn care and weed control, including recommendations for proper watering, possibly adding mulch and more.

How much does weed control cost?
Our weed control services are custom built to your unique situation. We offer both pre-emergent (prevent a weed problem before it happens) and post-emergent (damage control when weeds are already up and growing) weed control. The cost will depend on how many sessions are recommended, the size of your lawn and the complexity of the job.
What products do you use for weed control?
We use a range of products, tools and techniques depending on your unique situation, however the product that we usually recommend is Fiesta Lawn Weed Killer. Fiesta is our herbicide of choice as it’s all natural and mineral-based. We’ve found it’s an extremely effective product for getting rids of weeds while also remaining safe for your family, pets and the environment.
Is weed control safe for my family and pets?
The product that we typically recommend is Fiesta Lawn Weed Killer. Fiesta is not only safe for your grass, but also safe for your family and pets. It’s considered a very low-risk product. We usually recommend that after an application people and pets stay away from the area for about three hours, giving it enough time to dry. After the three hours, everyone can continue to play on the lawn as normal.
What happens if it rains after an herbicide treatment?
The product that we most typically use, Fiesta Lawn Weed Killer, is rain-fast within three hours. If it rains before the three hours have passed, we’ll discuss the best next steps with you and ensure you get the results you’re looking for at no additional charge.
